DONE!

Graduate school applications are officially done and out of my hands. I turned my last one into the post office yesterday. It feels sooooooo nice to have them completed and out of my hands.
I applied to three schools. University of Washington, Eastern Washington University, and OU-Tulsa. I won't hear back from UW until April. Eastern could come either in late March or April. OU's could come any day. Stay tuned.

My biggest wedding frustration right now has been photographers claiming themselves to be "affordable" when they cost over $1300. If you want to charge over a thousand dollars, that's fine. I understand that people pay that much and more for photography. Heck, charge MORE if you can get away with it. It's just so annoying when they list themselves in craigslist as "Super Affordable Photography!". Why don't just type "Wonderful Photography" or "Very Professional"? The people who will book them are looking for those things. People like me who are truly seeking an affordable photographer don't need this false advertising.
What's even more annoying are the photographers who want you to contact them for their pricing. This one guy and I have been playing phone tag because he insists on calling me "to set up a consultation" when all I want is him to email me his prices. If he is within reasonable range of what I am looking for, then I will bother talking to him on the phone.

I have loved being engaged and I love planning my wedding. It's just for bumps in the road such as these that make me excited for May 17th.

Clearfield

Jordan and I just got back from a weekend o' fun in Clearfield. We were able to see my parents who were both in town, as well as my three aunts. My grandma is currently sick in the hospital so we spent some time visiting her, spent MORE time giving my grandparents house a heavy duty scrub down, and spent whatever time we had left eating out at tasty restaurants. (Crown Burger + Cracker Barrel = Fat Sonja.)
My grandma gave us all quite a scare as we weren't sure what was wrong with her exactly. Luckily on Saturday, we were given a diagnosis: THIS. I'm still a little confused on what it does, and I'm too lazy to read the whole article. Mom explained it to us in simple terms, and she made my already germophobic fiance even more paranoid. Jordan wouldn't let me touch him until I washed my hands and sanitized them. Don't be surprised if you see the Spruce Goose on our wedding registry list...
My aunt Jane had the pleasure of modeling my sister's bridesmaid dress for us all. It looked nice, but we are making a slight change in the ensemble. Instead of filling the plunging neckline with material from the skirt, my aunt is going to sew the top so that it is modest, but doesn't need anything under it.
I bought Jordan's ring. It's tungsten and looks great. I also got my wedding dress! AUGH! The store I got it from, Sweetheart's Bridal, wouldn't let me take pictures of it, so I don't have one. But I found two pictures that KIND OF look like the bottom of the dress:
My dress has a bubble hem, which makes it bubbly at the bottom rather than laying flat. This one looks a little like it too:
As for the top, It is a scoop neck with pretty beading and buttons up the back. It also has short sleeves. My mom saw it and she really likes it. I feel very poofy and cupcakey, which is what I've always wanted in a wedding dress. It's so nice to finally have it! Now I just have to get it altered.

Reluctantly.... PICTURES

I was nervous about it, but I decided to upload my pictures on my sick computer....
Presenting: MY RING! (Ta-daaaaa! Don't mind the hairy knuckles. Eeeeew!)
This one is pretty blurry, but you get the idea.
And for my 6 lovely bridesmaids, here is the rough draft of your dresses:

The red skirts will be hemmed to a tea length, about 3 inches below the knee. Then, the extra material from chopping off the bottom of the skirt will be used to make a sash to be tied high around the torso. Lastly, the extra material will also be used to fill in the neckline (where Melissa's white tank top is showing.) Enjoy!

I'm going to end this post with a picture of how I spent my week before Christmas, since I was FINALLY able to upload my pictures.

I Heart Mulder

I have yet another Jordan look-alike story:

So the other day, Jordan and I were leaving his stake conference and he bumped into some guy. The guy looked at Jordan and said, "Hey, you look just like David Duchovny!" My first though was "uh...no." But now, I have changed my mind! Jordan DOES look Mulder if he got brown contacts a cute puffy cheeks. Here's a picture of each of them posing with random girls:

Since I'm on the topic of pictures.... I know that everyone has wanted to see pictures of the ring, pictures of my bridesmaid dresses, etc. All uploading of pictures will have to be put on an annoying hold. My computer caught the MOST IRRITATING virus, and I am too scared to do anything to it yet. My friend's husband said he would reinstall my hard drive, but I can't find my CD that I got when I first received my laptop. I probably threw it away. BYU won't let me use their internet either, which is sucky. It's like, c'mooooonnnnnnn. Oh, well.

My mom is coming to town this Saturday, so hopefully she will be able to help me pick out my dress! I've narrowed it down to two choices, I think.

On Saturday Jordan and I went to a bridal fair in Provo. It was so much fun (well, for ME!) We got to try lots of samples of food, sign up for contests, and look at all sorts of fun stuff. Jordan is a good luck charm; he won a free tuxedo rental and $50 off a men's ring. Thatta boy!

My absolute favorite thing about my internship is the free food. It seems like at least twice a month a teacher has a birthday and there will be a huge cake in the faculty lounge (Jim Gaffigan, anyone?) Other times, the faculty meeting will have left over bagels and fruit. One magical day, a really rich family bought the entire school faculty a delicious lunch of fried chicken and wontons. That was pretty much the best day of my life. On the so-so days when it is no one's birthday and there is zero food for me to scarf, the wonderful nice principal whom (who?) I share my office with always ALWAYS has a huge bowl of candy. At the end of the school year, I am going to miss the freebies of my internship...but that is all.

Has anyone had much luck with their clearplay yet? Jordan and I rented two R movies that we were unable to watch because the clearplay people didn't edit them. Oh, but rest assured, people- they've gone through and edited Wall-E! I'm sorry, but what on earth is there to edit in that movie??? There's only like 6 words in the entire show!!

mmm...bye.
